PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1.0 Professional experience, which has spanned 11 years, and a lot  has been

achieved in various areas of  pathology.

 

1.1 Bringing accreditation to the University of Nigeria Morbid Anatomy department, the first since inception of the Hospital to train Residents in post graduate specialist studies this year. Prior to this time residents were going to LUTH to train.

2.0 Restoration of accreditation for the undergraduate training program for pathology by both the MDCN and NUC.

3.0 Publication of over 50 papers in the last ten years and several other papers undergoing review in various journal both internationally and locally.

 3.1 Nomination into the 2009 list of who’s who of professionals.

3.2 Underwent training on breast cancer tissue banking in collaboration in 2007. with ITIS USA.

3.3 I was appointed consultant pathologist and lecturer 1 in UNN and UNTH in November 13th 2005.

3.4 I was promoted to Senior lecturer in October 1 2007 in UNN. Promoted Associate Professor October 1 2010 and due for Professor from 1st October 2013,

3.5I was appointed Head of Department of Morbid Anatomy and pathology in AUGUST 2007 till AUGUST 2009.Again appointed head of department from August 1st 2014- July 2016.

3.6 I have trained in Sentra Laboratory Services of Sentra Norfolk General Hospital Norfolk Virginia. USA on immuno histochemistry , molecular pathology and polymerase chain reaction all towards improving cancer  diagnosis especially of breast cancer which is not only the most common malignancy in females but also the most common solid cancer in Eastern Nigeria today. This program was not sponsored and commenced in August 31 2009 to October 21st 2009.

In 2009 we published an article in Germany on SOLITARY HEPATIC LYMPHANGIOMA IN AN INFANT, in the journal of perinatal medicine .In 2008

it was referenced by S Zeidan  in France to be the only case documented in infants

world wide see inclusions.
