Hyginus Uzo Ezegwui is a Professor of Obstetrics Gynaecology, at the College of Medicine University of Nigeria Ituku Ozalla Campus and an Honorary Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist, at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Ituku-Ozalla Enugu. He has worked extensively as a researcher and trainer spanning over 18 years. His special interest is in Reproductive Health/family planning.
He has worked as a consultant to Society For Family Health, Pathfinder International, Paths 2, IPAS Nigeria and Marie Stones International on reproductive health.
Professor Ezegwui is a seasoned administrator, researcher and prolific writer and has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals internationally and nationally. He has also written many project proposals and technical reports.
He joined the Services University of Nigeria in 2005 as a senior lecturer and by 2010 he rose to the rank of a Professor.
He is widely travelled and has attended FIGO conferences in Cape Town, Rome and Canada where he presented papers.
He is energetic, focused and capable of independent work. Prof Ezegwui has a pleasant personality and a good sense of humour. He relates well with students and colleagues. He is a Christian. He belongs to the Scripture Union Nigeria where he rose to be the regional Secretary.
